Effects of Indigenous and Commercial Rhizobia on Growth and Nodulation of Soybean (Glycine max L) under Greenhouse Condition

Background: Soybean ( Glycine max L.) is the most vital grain legume crop rich in protein and oil. The inoculation of rhizobia with soybean plays a very important role increasing soil fertility via its contribution to biological nitrogen fixation. Objective: This study focuses on evaluation indigenous commercial nodulation growth parameters. Methodology: Soil samples were collected from five districts for nodule trapping. isolated using ‘plant induction following standard procedures. greenhouse experiments arranged completed randomized design three replications two control units. data plant height, number, dry weight, shoot root length; total nitrogen-content. Results: entire isolates found gram-negative, without absorbing congo-red did not grow peptone glucose agar media. Slow grower turned bromothymol blue yeast extract mannitol medium into moderately deep color but fast changed yellow color. All tested sand induced significantly superior negative terms weight. weight rhizobial sterilized experiment was ranging 1.6 2.2g per it highly significant correlation Conclusion: competent all rhizobia. encourages further field molecular characteristics.
